Suspected Terrorist Who Allegedly Targeted Times Square And Statue Of Liberty Busted

Times Square - a target?

A woman scientist who was trained at MIT and who was arrested in Afghanistan allegedly trying to shoot American agents is being called the most significant suspected terrorist to be captured in the past five years.

Authorities say Aafia Siddiqui, a Pakistani national with ties to al Qaeda, had a list of New York landmarks including Times Square, the subway system and the Statue of Liberty when she was arrested. She also allegedly had information about biological, chemical and radiological weapons in her possession.

The New York Daily News reports that Siddiqui's attorney says her client is being framed. That the feds need to show that they are continuing to make significant progress in the war on terror. And that Siddiqui, who is now in a wheelchair after being shot in the struggle during her arrest, is a "sacrificial lamb."

Well this is a remarkable story but i for one would like for more information on siddiqui. It does make me wonder why a very intelligent MIT student would have in her possession that important information and not have put it into a safe area for keeping. Of course our present administrations use of fear with the lies they told doesnt give me confidence in what they deem to tell us. Now I am not saying that this may be true, but i want a thorough investigation by a true reporter having no connections to our government. Unbaised. But right now all the news that is breaking is striking fear in us to get us to make that first move against Iran. A very similar scenerio like how we were taken to war with Iraq. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me! Frizzy163

Osama Bin Laden promised some time ago that we always needed to be afraid because we would never know where the next attack was coming from - that we may think we should just be afraid of bearded Easterners, but we would never know.
Basically what he was telling us is that they will not be defeated - that all they have to do is come out us from our blind side, and weigh in on our complacency and touching belief that we have our invulnerrability as a cloak

I guess this further puts to lie all the claims of poor, uneducated young Muslim men driven to commit acts of terrorism by poverty and disenchantment. After the London Doctor Jihad, this just further calls into question the motives and objectives of all followers of the "religion of peace"

Frizzy, I agree with you in regard to having a thoroughly unbiased investigation of Siddiqui, if only to allay another conspiracy theory.

However, we have all known people who are book smart and street stupid. I am way passed being surprised at anything.

Don, do not confuse Islam with terrorism. I thought all intelligent people knew that they are not synonymous terms, but I am WAY passed being surprised at anything!.
